The results of an autopsy for a 2-year-old Green Bay boy have been submitted to the court.
WBAY reports that the defense attorneys for 22-year-old James VanderLeest have received the autopsy report and lab results, but still need time to review them with their experts.
VanderLeest is facing charges of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and four counts of Felony Bail Jumping for the death of 2-year-old Leo Esclante last year.
Green Bay police began investigating after receiving a call about a child with life-threatening injuries at a home in the 100 block of Alpine Drive.
The child, later identified as Escalante, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but later died.
VanderLeest claims the boy fell down the stairs, but the prosecution says the injuries were inconsistent with a fall.
VanderLeest is due back in court in April.
