Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a garage in the Village of Harrison to catch fire.
Harrison Fire-Rescue was called to a residence on Rustic Lane just after 12:15 yesterday afternoon (February 10th) on a report of a garage fire.
Crews arrived to find the attached structure fully engulfed in flames, with the heat causing damage to the siding on a neighboring home.
All occupants had already evacuated by the time they arrived, so crews were able to quickly attack the blaze.
After getting the fire under control, the team conducted a thorough search of the home to make sure the flames had not spread beyond the garage.
It was determined that, while the garage sustained heavy damage, the rest of the home was not impacted.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and there were no injuries reported.
Harrison Fire-Rescue was aided at the scene by the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Buchanan Fire Department.
