Reedsville Schools were temporarily placed on “Secure” status on Monday (February 9th).
Superintendent Michael Nate explained that it was due to a police presence in the neighborhood, addressing a concern outside of school buildings.
During a “Secure” protocol, teaching and learning continued as normal inside; however, no students were permitted to go outside for any reason until the all-clear was given.
Reedsville Jr/Sr. High School and Reedsville Elementary School were secured for about 15 minutes, after which normal school operations resumed.
Nate finished by saying that the district appreciates the community’s understanding and continued partnership as they prioritize the safety of students and staff.
