
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has released its 2025 annual report.
The report explains what’s happening across all departments in the sheriff’s office, including the investigation unit, which shows the most common crime they investigated this year.
In 2025, the top crime investigated was drug offenses, with 241, followed by assault, vandalism, fraud, and theft. Sheriff’s deputies also investigated 13 burglaries, eight child pornography cases, and nine weapons violations.
The Manitowoc County Drug Unit handled 101 drug cases.
The drug collected the most in 2025 was methamphetamine with 45 pounds, followed by fentanyl, THC, MDMA, LSD, and psilocybin.
On the traffic enforcement side, there was an increase in car-deer accidents, while property-damage cases dropped, and fatal incidents tallied zero.
The sheriff’s office also wrote fewer tickets in 2025, with 2,267 compared to 2,863 in 2024.
OWI arrests were also down, from 175 in 2024 to 123 in 2025. Other announcements in the report explained that the sheriff’s drone team conducted joint training with their SWAT Team to integrate interior search drones.
This year, they will be updating drones as well and expanding flight time and operational capacity.
