The Greenfield police chief is facing more charges related to accusations of using a department surveillance system at his home.
Prosecutors added misconduct in office and destroying computer data in an amended criminal complaint against Jay Johnson this week, alleging that somebody remotely wiped his cell phone that was seized in November.
He’s also accused of trying to influence the investigation into his actions by having his fiancée file a complaint with the Greenfield human resources office.
The investigation into Johnson started last spring when he allegedly had department staff install a department-managed surveillance system at his home in Wind Lake.
