There is no hotter team in Manitowoc County than Manitowoc Lutheran boys’ basketball.
They will try for their eleventh consecutive victory tonight as they host a quality St. Mary Catholic team at Lancer Circle.
After a 2-3 start, the Lancers have reeled off ten straight wins, largely due to their defense. They’ve allowed just over 47 points per game, including just shy of 41 per game over their last four games, and commit just eight fouls per game on average. The Lancers also take care of the ball, coughing it up just 8 times, on average, per game.
St. Mary Catholic comes to Lancer Circle with an overall record of 13-5 and scores the ball at better than 74 points per game. Senior Mason Uhlenbrauck averages 18 points per game, with sophomore Dylan Brenn scoring better than 13 points per contest, and junior Luke Fairweather averages just shy of 10 and a half points per game. Where the Zephyrs have the advantage is on the glass, grabbing nearly four more rebounds per game and shooting 71.5% from the free-throw line compared to 61.5% for the Lancers.
This is a huge game for both teams as they come into tonight as part of a three-way tie with Howards Grove at 5 and 2 in the Big East North, a game behind division-leading Reedsville.
