A Sheboygan County judge has made a new ruling in a case against a Sheboygan man who was shot by a police officer in 2024.
24-year-old Tommie Dixon was back in Sheboygan County Court yesterday (February 2nd) for an oral ruling.
Judge Rebecca Persick said she read all the briefs in the case and reviewed the transcript of an interview with Dixon.
She found that he was aware of his Miranda Rights during the incident, freely waived them, and denied a motion the 24-year-old’s attorney had filed.
Dixon will return to court on March 18th for a scheduling conference.
The Sheboygan man now faces a charge of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide after facing lesser charges previously.
Sheboygan Police say they were called for a person waving a gun in the air.
They said that Dixon then lunged at an officer and disarmed them, leading to him being shot.
