A teacher in Chilton will soon be a published author.
Brittni Nelson is working with Fresh Water Press in Manitowoc to publish her mystery novel “The House on Hemlock Hill,” which is geared for children aged 8 to 12 years old.
The book tells the story of 12-year-old Alyssa Scott as she unravels the decades-old disappearance of a girl through the pages of a forgotten diary.
While learning about life on a mid-century dairy farm, Alyssa navigates her own rural life.
A reclusive elderly neighbor seems to watch her every move, she struggles to fit in at her new school, and she’s bombarded with talk of a haunted house and a suspected killer from her classmates.
Sophia Dramm, the Editor and Engagement Manager at Fresh Water Press, noted, “Though it’s a kids’ book, I, as an adult, greatly enjoyed reading it for the first time. I was hooked from the first few chapters.”
