Plans for a data center in DeForest will not move forward.
The decision was made on Wednesday after village staff recommended against the QTS-led development the night before.
Members of the community also expressed concerns for months over the potential impact on the environment.
In a statement, QTS said “it has become clear that now is not the right time” for the project.
However, the company mentioned it would continue its partnership with UW-Madison to continue research in developing responsible data centers.
