Two colleges in our area are expanding their partnership to make secondary education more accessible.
Lakeland University and Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) have announced that they have entered a new phase of their partnership to bring both institutions together under one roof.
Lakeland will be opening its own space on MPTC’s campus in Fond du Lac with an open house and ribbon cutting set for February 18th, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
This marks the latest collaboration between the two schools, which previously joined forces to address the nursing workforce and already allows MPTC graduates to enroll at Lakeland as juniors, receiving a 20% tuition discount.
Lakeland President Beth Borgen, understanding the importance of this next chapter, said, “We share a vision for a more educated region, and we are passionate about creating easier access for students to achieve their educational goals.”
Likewise, MPTC President Bonnie Baerwald said, “Together, we are creating stronger, more seamless pathways for students to continue their education. Lakeland’s location on our Fond du Lac campus is a thoughtful, intentional effort to remove barriers and bring opportunity closer to the students we serve.”
