Manitowoc Lincoln’s boys basketball team looked for a big conference win when they hosted Sheboygan North last night.
Despite a valiant effort defensively, the Ships would fall to the Golden Raiders 51-45. Out of the gate, Lincoln looked up to the challenge on both ends of the floor and did a good job of limiting North’s opportunities from the 3-point line.
Thanks to 9 first-half points each from senior Micah Kubsch and junior Jaquan Foth, the Ships went into the break leading 29-26.
However, North came out strong to start the second.
Half number two was back and forth before Sheboygan North took over behind their own strong defensive performance.
In the end, North sophomore Rylan Buhr’s game-high 16 points were too much to overcome. The Ships were led offensively by Kubsch, who finished with 15 points, while Foth finished with 11.
With the loss, Lincoln falls to 7-10 on the year, 3-8 in the FRCC.
Up next for the Ships will be another tough opponent in the Ashwaubenon Jaguars on Friday.
