Many from Lakeshore communities will join together to better understand homelessness in our area tonight (January 28th).
The Lakeshore Housing Coalition’s winter Point In Time (PIT) Count will be held tonight from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and again at 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.
Twice a year, the Housing Coalition, comprised of Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Kewaunee, and Door Counties, holds a PIT Count to identify, support, and aid individuals experiencing homelessness in our communities.
The count not only helps organizations better understand the state of homelessness, but the Lakeshore Housing Coalition also says, “The data we collect determines how much funding we get, where support is needed most, and how we can advocate for long-term solutions.”
Anyone looking for more information on the January PIT Count can visit the Lakeshore Housing Coalition Facebook page, where those interested can also find a link to register to serve as a volunteer tonight and tomorrow morning.
