A Sheboygan man is heading to trial in a child sexual assault case.
Court records show that 36-year-old Anthony M. Costa has been charged with one felony count of First-Degree Child Sex Assault, Sexual Contact or Intercourse with a Person Under the Age of 13, and one felony count of Possession of Child Pornography.
These charges stem from an incident that is said to have occurred on June 11th of last year.
After pleading not guilty to both of the charges he faces back in October, Costa was bound over and now is set for a three-day jury trial, which is scheduled to begin on March 4th with a backup date of April 21st if hearings are delayed.
At this time, very few details regarding the case are available; however, the 36-year-old and his legal counsel originally demanded a speedy trial, however that demand has since been withdrawn.
Prior to his child sexual assault trial, Costa will return to court on February 23rd for his final pre-trial hearing.
Until then, Costa remains in custody at the Sheboygan County Jail on a $500,000 cash bail.
