Extremely cold temperatures are prompting changes to Maritime Metro Transit (MMT) bus routes.
Buses have been experiencing mechanical issues, and four routes have currently been switched over to hourly service today (January 23rd) until 3:00 p.m.
Routes 2 and 6 will run on the top of the hour, and routes 3 and 4 will run on the bottom of the hour. Routes 1 and 5 will continue their normal schedule.
MMT says that, due to mechanical issues and weather conditions, waiting for a bus has become unsafe for passengers, so all bus routes will shut down for the day at 3:00 p.m.
Bus service has also been cancelled for the entire day tomorrow (January 24th).
It’s anticipated that service will resume next Monday (January 26th).
Residents or bus riders with questions can call Maritime Metro at 920-686-3560.
