To honor America’s 250th birthday, the Sheboygan County Museum will be hosting a series of guest speakers.
The 2026 Speaker Series: Our American Home will feature five events welcoming a plethora of speakers, with the first coming on February 3rd at 6:00 p.m.
The Speaker Series is an annual educational program held by the museum, and this year will focus on exploring how the U.S. became the “melting pot” that is home million of individuals from different places and cultures.
The first event, entitled Black Citizenship and the Struggle for Democratic Inclusion, will be led by Dr. Andrene Wright–Johnson. During her time, she will talk about how Black Americans gained U.S. citizenship unlike any other group in our country’s history.
She will also interview a panel of local leaders, including Judge Natasha Torry, Black American Community Outreach President Toni White, and UW Outreach Specialist Joshua Wright.
The following guest speaker events will be held on the first Tuesday of every month through May 5th.
Admission to each event held at the museum will cost $5 per person, but is free to Sheboygan County Museum members.
