The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is looking to highlight the work of educators across the state.
The DNR has begun accepting applications for the 2025 Hunter and Archery Education Awards, with submissions being accepted through February 15th.
Honors up for grabs include the Hunter Education Instructor of the Year, Hunter Education Group of the Year, and Archery Education Instructor of the Year Awards.
Those eligible for nomination include current educators and groups who have gone above and beyond to significantly advance hunter safety on a volunteer basis.
Regarding those to be nominated, Lieutenant Renee Thok, DNR Hunter Education Administrative Warden, said, “They deserve as much recognition as we can give them. Nominating an instructor or group is a very special way to honor them for their countless hours of volunteer time they put in to continue to grow the future of safe, responsible hunters.”
These extraordinary services worthy of nomination can come in many forms, including the recruitment of new instructors, students, or hunters, the sheer volume of courses taught, and more.
To nominate an individual or group, download the nomination form on the DNR’s volunteer website and email it to DNRLESafety@wisconsin.gov.
