The City of Two Rivers wants to hear from residents about the future of the Neshotah Beach Concessions Stand.
A survey has been released as city staff consider multiple approaches, ranging from minimal health-code updates to a full demolition and rebuild.
The initial option currently under consideration by Two Rivers is an interior renovation that would retain the existing building footprint and architectural style from the 1950’s while doubling restroom capacity, providing individual and family changing areas, improving ADA accessibility, and updating the rear picnic shelter area to include retractable screens and heaters so the space can be used for more weeks in the year.
However, the city council has not made a final decision, and they will not make one on the concession stand right away.
The city explains that the estimated cost of the project under consideration is about $510,000.
There will be a portion supported by city property taxes, totaling $130,000 over 10 years.
The survey will ask residents their age and what option they would like to see for the future of the concessions stand.
They will also be asked about the city investing in public park amenities.
