Manitowoc’s Winter Farmers Market will not be happening this weekend.
Grow It Forward CEO Amber Daugs says with the forecast calling for temperatures between -16 and -2 degrees and wind chills from -40 to -45 degrees, they have decided to cancel this Saturday’s market (January 24th) at the Venue.
The extreme cold would create significant safety concerns for vendor travel, loading and unloading, and overall participation for farmers.
Daugs continues saying the group wants to prioritize customer safety as the conditions make it unsafe for many to be outside.
The indoor Winter Farmers Market will continue on February 14th.
