A local store in Manitowoc is closing after 25 years in business.
On last week’s episode of WOMT’s Country Living, Horsey Habit Owner Michelle Endries announced that she and her husband, Dave, are retiring and will close the store to simplify their lives.
Michelle explains that both she and her husband have tried to sell the store but haven’t found a buyer.
They were also looking at selling to employees.
“It’s been a long process to get to this announcement,” she explained. “This is not something that happened just like overnight; we decided to flip a switch, no. This was a painful, how do we keep this thing running in our community, and just couldn’t get the right team together to make that happen.”
Horsey Habit is being liquidated, meaning all sales are final and everything must go.
But Michelle explained that she wants to make sure that her friend and best customers get the best deals first.
Right now, their going-out-of-business sale offers 20% off the entire store, including boots, jeans, and everything in between.
On their Facebook page, Michelle said, from the very beginning, they’ve been blessed to be surrounded by staff who felt more like family and friends than actual employees.
Horsey Habit is located off County Road R on Redwood Drive.
