An appeal filed by one of four men convicted in a 2019 Green Bay murder has been denied.
FOX11 reports that Brown County has denied a motion to appeal filed by 25-year-old Colton Kehoe in regard to his 2020 conviction in the killing of Green Bay Preble High School student Federico Abarca.
Kehoe, who is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence after being found guilty of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, presented three reasons for his appeal.
They included that his attorney was constitutionally ineffective, that his plea was not entered voluntarily or knowingly, and that DNA found on a knife served as new evidence in the case.
However, in their ruling on the appeal, Brown County court rejected all three claims, meaning the 25-year-old must carry out his prison sentence.
Kehoe and three other men, Jarid Stevens, Jared Williquette, and Gavin Rock, were all found guilty in Abarca’s murder.
According to the Green Bay Police Department, a drug deal with Abarca was set up by Rock via Snapchat.
The four men went to the drug deal intending to steal THC vapes from Abarca, but a dispute ensued.
During the altercation, Williquette shot and killed the 18-year-old Abarca.
