Two people were arrested after trying to flee from Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies.
The sheriff’s office explained that a deputy observed a vehicle traveling north on Main Street near West Bank Street that was not displaying proper registration.
As they tried to make a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and accelerated to the intersection of West Bank Street and Macy Street, and then southbound on Macy Street before turning west onto Sibley Street, hitting a curb in the process.
The vehicle continued to Sibley Street and hit a second curb before coming to a stop near the intersection of Sibley and Doty Streets.
Three people were found in the vehicle, with one being wanted in the City of Fond du Lac in connection to a separate case.
A man and woman from Fond du Lac were arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding an officer and resisting arrest.
The man was also hit with three counts of felony bail jumping, while the woman was ticketed for her 1st OWI.
The third person in the vehicle cooperated with sheriff deputies and was released.
The female suspect has since posted bond, but the man remains in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $20,000 cash bail.
