A former Menasha Police Officer has been bound over for trial.
WBAY reports that 31-year-old Cristian Morales was back in Outagamie County Court, appearing before a judge on a charge of misconduct in office/excess authority.
During yesterday’s (January 20th) hearing, Morales waived his preliminary hearing, and the court found probable cause to proceed to an arraignment hearing, meaning the case will go to trial.
The 31-year-old is accused of using the Flock Camera system to track an ex-girlfriend’s location five separate times.
Appleton Police opened an investigation into Morales in October, which eventually led to his arrest earlier this month.
The department says he told them that he did it out of “desperation, and bad judgment, combined with a lack of sleep.”
The Menasha Police Department has since placed the former officer on administrative leave, and the case remains under investigation.
