A Sheboygan County state representative is highlighting two bills he co-sponsored that passed the Wisconsin Assembly.
26th District Representative Joe Sheehan explained that Assembly Bill 803, which expands the state’s Fast Forward Program, awards money for programs that train teachers and those interested in becoming teachers.
The bill approved in the Assembly would provide evidence-based educational training, leadership development, on-site job experience, and other support to the program.
Another bill Sheehan is happy to see pass was Assembly Bill 395, which allows school districts to use audiovisual equipment on school buses.
The Sheboygan Democrat explains that currently, “buses are allowed to have cameras, but there was some ambiguity in the law about whether or not audio recordings were allowed. The bill clears up language while preserving the district’s local control over whether they want to have some kind of audiovisual recording.”
He finished by saying that school districts should be able to make their own decisions on whether technology is right for them.
