The Northeastern Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (NEWAHEC) is providing more information about a new public health vending machine coming to Two Rivers.
The vending machine will be installed outside of the Two Rivers Fire Department and will provide a wide range of health supplies, carefully selected in collaboration with local non-profits to meet the community’s most urgent needs.
A public health vending machine was installed at the NEWAHEC offices on York Street in Manitowoc last year and has distributed over 245 boxes of Narcan and 115 Fentanyl Test Strips, with community members using the machine nearly every day.
Social Worker Emily Longmeyer-Wolf explained that “by working closely with local organizations, we can ensure the Two Rivers machine reflects current community needs while removing barriers to these critical resources.”
The new location in Two Rivers was selected for its accessibility and visibility.
Funding for the new vending machine will come from a local grant with no reliance on tax dollars.
