
The Manitowoc Lutheran boys’ basketball team tries for its sixth consecutive win tonight as it hosts the Hilbert Wolves in a Big East North Division game at Lancer Circle.
The Lancers arguably picked up their biggest win of the season Tuesday night, handing Reedsville, the top-ranked team in Division Five, their first loss of the season.
Defense has been paramount during this winning streak, as they are giving up just over 48 points per game.
Offensively, they have picked up the pace, with multiple players becoming threats to score.
Senior Will Franzen leads the Lancers, averaging nearly 13 points per game. Senior guard Wesley Hecker scores better than 10 per game, with several others scoring anywhere from 6 to 9 points per game.
The Lancers are 2-2 in the Big East North and 7-3 overall.
Hilbert has played much better basketball the last few weeks, having a three-game winning streak snapped by Howards Grove Tuesday night.
The Wolves are 1-3 in the Big East North and 5-6 on the season.

After a 6-0 start, the Jets have lost three of their last five but picked up a non-conference win at Wausau West Tuesday night to improve to 8-3 on the year.
Chilton is searching for their first win of the season and is led by seniors Mason Pagel and Wyatt Gregory, who both average 14 points-per-game.

Kohler travels to Random Lake and Freedom, ranked first in Division Three, and is in Marinette to battle the Marines.
