
The Manitowoc Lutheran girls’ basketball team jumps from ninth to fourth this week in the Division Four Max Preps High School Girls Basketball poll.
The Lancers, under Head Coach Mike Behnke, were 10 and 2 heading into last night’s home game with Reedsville and have a strong, experienced squad that features balance on offense and a swarming 1-3-1 zone defense that, when firing on all eight cylinders, creates havoc for opponents by forcing and scoring off turnovers.
Undefeated St. Mary Catholic is number one for a second consecutive week. Howards Grove is 11th, Kohler is 21st, and the Kewaunee Storm is ranked 24th.
Sheboygan Area Lutheran is up one spot to eighth in Division Five. The unbeaten Oostburg Flying Dutch are first again this week in Division Three.
Winneconne is third, Denmark is 10th, Kiel checks in at number 19, Sheboygan Falls is 21st, and Brillion is just outside the top 25 at number 29.
Xavier of Appleton is ranked seventh in Division Two. Fox Valley Lutheran, also from Appleton, is number 11. Shawano Community is ranked 22nd, Kewaskum is 23rd, and West De Pere is 25th.
Notre Dame Academy, De Pere. Kimberly and Neenah are ranked 6th through 9th, respectively, in Division One.
Appleton North is 15th, Bay Port is 19th, and Hortonville is ranked number 25.
