
Only one school will be representing Manitowoc County at the Wisconsin SkillsUSA Regional Competition later this month.
Nine students from Mishicot High School will be at Fox Valley Technical College on Friday, January 23rd, for the event, which highlights our nation’s future skilled workforce.
Other area schools participating include Appleton West, which has four students participating, Green Bay Southwest with six contestants, Kewaunee High School’s two competitors, West De Pere, which has two students making the trip, Oshkosh West, which will be represented by 12 students, and Oshkosh North, which has the most students competing with 21.
Competitors will participate in eighteen different categories, ranging from automotive and welding to mathematics, medical, and job interview skills.
The opening ceremonies will begin at 8:15 a.m., and winners will be crowned at 1:00 p.m.
The Wisconsin SkillsUSA State competition will be held in June at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison and at Madison Area Technical College.
