A Two Rivers man has been charged following a child abuse incident in Manitowoc County.
A Detective with the Manitowoc Police Department was made aware on December 23rd of a potential child abuse case by Manitowoc County Child Protective Services that is said to have occurred on November 7th.
Through the investigation, the Detective was made aware that a 24-year-old man was alleged to have physically assaulted a child with a belt, with punches, and by kicking.
The police report continues to say that the 24-year-old had entered the victim’s room, asking them and another child to be quiet.
In response, the victim, identified as victim 1, called the 24-year-old ‘bro’, to which they responded by challenging the victim to call him bro again.
The victim obliged and was then struck with a belt before being kicked, punched, and thrown into a door frame.
The suspect then contacted the victim’s other guardian, stating that they “beat victim 1’s ass.”
The other guardian, as well as Manitowoc County CPS, provided the Detective with images showing the injuries sustained by the victim at the hands of the 24-year-old.
As a result of the investigation, the 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with one count of Physical Abuse of a Child, Intending Great Bodily Harm.
