Doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield called police when they found an infant had suffered broken ribs and a broken jaw last February. Nicholas Fudala had claimed he dropped his son as he was holding him while talking on the phone. The doctors said the injuries were partially healed and were not the result of an accident. The 22-year-old Fudala is charged with felony abuse of a child causing great bodily harm. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Marathon County Court next June. Investigators say he changed his story several times while they were interviewing him.
