Georgiana “George” Vogel Witt peacefully passed away on January 7, 2026, at age 96. She was born on January 1, 1930, in Manitowoc to Louis and Agnes Denk. Georgiana married Paul Vogel October 1, 1949, after his passing she then married Lloyd Witt on September 30, 1977.
George worked in the Housekeeping Departments at Holy Family Hospital and Felician Village for many years. After retirement she spent time with Lloyd at Pinecrest Historical Village. She enjoyed going to lunch with friends, reading, and taking care of her yard and line dancing at the Senior Center.
George is survived by her daughter Robin (Bob) Nett of Bend, OR; daughter-in-law Ellen (Dennis) Buck of Manitowoc; step-son Kevin (Carol) Witt of Sheboygan; step-daughters Carol (Charles) Stark of Manitowoc and Kathleen of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren David (Nicole) Vogel of Manitowoc, Aaron (Malynda) Nett of Salem, OR, Kristyn (Addison) Nett of Portland, OR, and Alec Nett of Bend, OR; step-grandchildren Ben (Monica) Stark of Charlotte, SC, Charlie Stark of Wauwatosa, WI, Ted (Erin) Stark of Seattle, WA, Emily (Justin) Atkinson of Cumming, GA, and Serha (John) Hayden of Fox Point, WI; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; sister Pat Crittendon of Manitowoc; special friend Linda Steckert; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands Paul Vogel and Lloyd Witt; son Steven Vogel; grandson Michael Vogel; siblings Irene (Art) Zipperer, Delores (Bob) Kohlbeck, Ruth (Mac) McCarthy, Betty (Bob) Christel, Marge (Fred) Burkart, Louis Denk III, and infant John Denk.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Service at Calvary Mausoleum Chapel, 2601 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 12:00 noon. Public is then welcome to join the family for a luncheon and celebration of George’s life at Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water St., at 1:00 PM.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Jeremy at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the staff at Felician Village Lakeside for their compassionate care of George.
