State Senator Andre Jacque has announced the student he selected for the 2025 Senate Scholar Program.
Representing the 1st Senate District in Madison this week will be Ava Kurey from Kaukauna High School. One student from each of Wisconsin’s 33 Senate Districts participates in this intensive, week-long program at the State Capitol in January, February, and March sessions.
The program consists of an advanced government curriculum that includes classroom instruction, roundtable discussion sections, and a lab component, and culminates in a mock committee hearing that students have drafted, to include testimony from experts and members of the public, followed by an executive session to vote a bill out of committee.
Sen Jacque said of his selection, “I know that Ava will learn so much from this truly unique, hands-on educational experience.”
