The teenager charged in a Green Bay homicide has entered his plea.
18-year-old Ji-Gwe-Mko Layton was in court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide with Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
The teen from Nekoosa was arrested in August after he was seen walking in the ditch along I-41 and Highway 172 in Ashwaubenon while carrying a rifle.
Layton admitted to shooting a 60-year-old man because he thought the man was going to rob his safe.
The victim was found in a wrecked vehicle with a small handgun near his feet, having died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Layton is being held on a $750,000 cash bond and is next due in court on April 3rd for a status conference.
