Bail has been set for a Manitowoc man charged with repeated sexual assault.
41-year-old Richard L. Krueger was given a $10,000 cash bail yesterday (January 9th) at his initial appearance by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa.
Krueger has been charged with three counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault, two counts of Disorderly Conduct, and One Count of Battery, all of which carry domestic violence enhancers, stemming from a string of incidents this week.
Manitowoc Police were called to a residence on Thursday (January 8th) on a report of sexual assault, naming Krueger as the suspect.
The victim, a female Manitowoc resident, told police that over the past two days, the 41-year-old forcibly sexually assaulted her on numerous occasions, physically struck and bit her when she refused his aggressive, non-consensual sexual advances, and told her to say that she ‘loved’ his aggressive, abusive, and sexual behavior.
She also told police, “If you guys let him loose, he’s going to kill me.”
When confronted by police, Krueger admitted to drinking and stated he “would never hurt a woman” before being arrested.
Additional terms of his bail include a strict no contact order with the victim or the residence where the incidents took place.
He will return to court on Monday (January 12th) for a preliminary hearing in Branch 4.
