The City of Plymouth is looking to fill the role of Fire Chief.
This search follows the departure of Ryan Pafford, the former Plymouth Fire Chief, who transitioned to Kiel, where he now serves as the City Administrator, taking over for recently retired Dave Funkhouser.
In their statement, the City of Plymouth stated, “The ideal candidate will bring strong fire service administration and management skills, lead with integrity and accountability, communicate openly, and build effective teams.”
They are also hoping that their next Fire Chief will step into the role with a proven track record and experience in emergency response operations, incident command, and the leadership capacity to lead a modern and full-service fire department.
With the position of Fire Chief carrying a significant importance relating to community safety, the list of requirements is quite extensive, including but not limited to being a certified firefighter I and II, a certified fire inspector, and a bachelor’s degree or higher in fire science, fire/medic, or public administration is also preferred.
The next Plymouth Fire Chief is also required to live within a 15-mile radius of the city limits.
