
The Sheboygan Police Department has bid farewell to three longtime officers.
The Department has shared that Officer Kent Huibregtse, Sergeant Shannon McKay, and Lieutenant Mathew Walsh all retired near the end of 2025, all of whom gave decades of service to their communities.
Lieutenant Walsh, who called it a career on December 29th, joined the force in 1993 and worked to help Sheboyganites for over 32 years.
Officer Huibregtse retired on December 30th after 29 years with the department.
As for Sergeant McKay, he joined the Sheboygan Police in 2001 and would spend the next 24 years serving the community ahead of his retirement on December 31st.
In their farewell message, SPD said of the three retirees, “While this is only a brief snapshot of their careers, the impact these three officers had on our department and community is immeasurable. They will be greatly missed by both their fellow officers and the citizens they served.”
