It was another successful holiday season for the Manitowoc Police Department and the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
Lieutenant Bruce Tuma explains that the department made fourteen OWI arrests between December 12th and New Year’s Day.
Officers also ticketed eight drivers for speeding violations, 17 for operating with a revoked or suspended license, and 2 for traffic violations.
Manitowoc Police also arrested four people for drug possession, one person was arrested for a felony, and another person had a warrant for arrest.
Lt. Tuma continues to say that impaired driving arrests have the potential to save lives on the road, and the Manitowoc Police Department is committed to continuing these efforts throughout the year.
If you plan to drink or use drugs, find another way to get home by using a rideshare service, city transit, or the safe ride home program.
