
A Manitowoc County boys’ basketball team is recognized as one of the state’s best.
Reedsville is ranked second in this week’s Division Five MaxPreps state high school boys’ basketball poll.
The undefeated Panthers improved to 8-0 on Monday night with a 65-57 victory over Howards Grove. Senior Guard Ben Prochnow is having an outstanding season, scoring 30 points while dishing out 7 assists, grabbing six rebounds, and recording six steals in the victory over the Grove.
Reedsville is off until Saturday night when they host Algoma at the Panthers’ den. The Wolves come to town ranked 12th in Division Four.
Other ranked area teams in D-5 are Sheboygan Lutheran at number three, and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah checks in at number 12.
In Division Four, Roncalli is ranked 19th, with cross-town rival Manitowoc Lutheran 24th.
Kewaunee is ranked third, Howards Grove is 10th, St. Mary Catholic is 11th, Algoma is 12th, and Cedar Grove-Belgium is 14th.
The Freedom Irish are number one in Division Three.
Xavier of Appleton is ranked fifteenth, Oostburg is 18th, and Winneconne checks in at number 25.
West De Pere, who snapped De Pere’s 61-game FRCC winning streak last week, is ranked fourth in Division Two, with the Redwings of Sheboygan South ranked 21st.
Sheboygan North is ranked third in Division One. De Pere is fourth, Kaukauna is 7th, Bay Port comes in at number 13, Appleton North is 14th, and Neenah checks in at number 21.
