The deadline has passed to submit nomination paperwork for the 2026 spring election.
Manitowoc County will have a new County Executive, and unless there is a major write-in campaign, that role will be held by Tyler Martell.
He was the only person to file nomination paperwork and will run unopposed.
Also running unopposed and retaining their seats will be District 1 Supervisor Mickey Lillibridge, Rita Metzger in District 3, Daniel Heilman for District 4, District 7 Supervisor Scott Schiesel, Paul Hacker in District 8, Ken Sitkiewitz for District 9, District 10 incumbent Don Zimmer, Kevin Behnke in District 12, Johnathan Neils in District 13, District 14 Supervisor Larry Bonde, Dylan Daniel Hammel in District 15, Susie Maresh in District 17, District 21 Supervisor Matthew Phipps, Mike Granmow in District 22, Douglas Klein in District 23, Don Weiss for District 24, and Bonnie Shimulunas in District 25.
Also running unopposed, but not as incumbents are Jill Ann Pope in District 5, who will be taking Tyler Martell’s former seat, Christopher McDonnell, who is taking over for Paul “Biff” Hansen in District 6, Christopher Dallas, who will take Ryan Phipps’ seat in District 11, and Shae Sortwell in District 19, taking over for James Falkowski.
There are three contested races as well. Brad Busse and Dillon Meisnest will square off for the District 16 seat formerly held by Leo Naidl, while District 20 Supervisor Lee Engelbrecht is being challenged by Andrew Schwerma.
The third contested race is for the Multi-Jurisdictional Municipal Judge for the City of Two Rivers and Village of Mishicot, where Emily Walker is being challenged by Mark Heller.
No one filed to run for the 2nd and 18th Supervisors Districts.
The Spring Election is scheduled for April 7th, and if necessary for other races, the primary will be held on February 17th.
