Sheboygan’s Common Council will kick off 2026 municipal meetings in the City.
The Council will meet today at 6:00 p.m., serving as the first meeting of 2026 in Sheboygan.
The group will begin with Mayoral appointments and announcements before holding a public forum.
Then, they will hold a hearing regarding a change to the City’s Zoning Ordinance before commemorating the services of recently passed former Mayor Michael Vandersteen.
The Council will then vote on granting Golden Harbor Assisted Living Facility permission to construct a wheelchair access ramp on South Water Street.
Their final order of business will be voting on the aforementioned changes to the City’s Zoning Ordinance, which will repeal and replace sections of Chapter 105 of the City’s Municipal Code, labeled as ‘General Zoning’.
