A barn fire in Sheboygan County over the weekend claimed the lives of a few chickens.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting the fire at N3685 County Road NN in the Town of Lyndon just before 3:30 Sunday morning (January 4th).
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, led by the Cascade Fire Department, where they found a barn with two attached siloes on fire.
The blaze was contained to that structure, but the barn was completely destroyed.
There were chickens living in the barn, and while some made it out, it is believed that a few were not as lucky and died in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Also responding to the scene were the Waldo, Beechwood, Town of Sheboygan Falls, Oostburg, Plymouth, Adell, Random Lake, Silver Creek, Elkhart Lake, Greenbush, and Glenbeulah Fire Department, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, first responders from Cascade and Adell, Orange Cross Ambulance, the Sheboygan County Highway Department and Fire Investigation Unit, and TNT Excavation.
