Manitowoc’s city art museum is gearing up for one of its first events of the new year.
The Rahr-West Art Museum and Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra will host a CoLLab Party with Artist Keith Haring on Saturday, January 10th, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The event is a celebration of Keith Haring’s Subway Drawings, featuring classical and contemporary music from the 1980s, the time when the drawings were created.
The 40 Subway Drawings were brought into the museum and put on display on December 7th to commemorate the Rahr-West’s 75th anniversary.
They come from a five-year period when Haring roamed the New York City subway system and drew unique chalk drawings.
Haring’s display will remain at the museum until February 15th.
