Several candidates have filed to run for city council seats in Manitowoc and Two Rivers.
So far in Manitowoc, only incumbents have filed their paperwork. They include Jodi Brey, who’s running in the 4th aldermanic district, and Eric Sitkiewitz, who’s running in the sixth aldermanic district.
In the 8th Aldermanic district, Bill Schlei is looking to keep his seat, as well as Brett Norell, who’s filed in the 9th district.
In Two Rivers, so far, two new residents are looking to join the city council.
They include Katherine Dahlke and Shawntel Hoffman. Incumbents in the Cool City include Darla LeClaire, Bonnie Shimuluas, and Adam Wachowski, who have not turned in paperwork.
For the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors, a couple more people have put their hats in the ring. Scott Schiesl is looking to keep his seat in District 7 as he’s filed to run again, along with Mike Grambow in District 22.
Lee Engelbrecht, the incumbent in District 20, has filed his paperwork to try and keep his seat. But he will have a challenge as Andrew Schwerma is also looking to represent the area.
Several county board supervisors have decided not to run again, including District 2 Supervisor Tim Jadowski, District 6 Supervisor Paul “Biff” Hansen, and District 11 Supervisor Ryan Phipps.
District 18th Supervisor Nicholas Muench is also not running again.
Emily Walker is also being challenged in the 2026 Spring Election for Multi-Jurisdictional Municipal Judge for Two Rivers and Mishicot.
Mark Heller is now running for the job as well.
Additionally, with County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer not running for another term, County Board Chairman Tyler Martel is the only person to have declared his candidacy for the role.
The Spring Election is scheduled for April 7th, with the primary slated for February 17th if necessary.
Nomination paperwork is due by January 6th.
