A court hearing has been delayed for a Virginia man arrested for transporting methamphetamine in Manitowoc County.
30-year-old Karonn R. Hamilton appeared in Manitowoc County court yesterday (December 26th) for his preliminary hearing as he faces on felony charge of Conspiracy to Manufacture or Deliver Amphetamine.
Hamilton appeared at his hearing still without legal representation and, in order to give him time to find a lawyer, Judge Jerilyn Dietz adjourned and rescheduled his preliminary hearing.
The 30-year-old was one of three Virginia men arrested, including Andre J. Allen and Corven M. Jones, on December 15th in a collaborative effort between the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit and the Green Bay Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The arrest came after authorities determined that all three men were traveling to the City of Manitowoc for the purpose of delivering a large amount of methamphetamine.
Following their arrest, 25 pounds of meth were found in a vehicle with an estimated street value of $250,000, while all three suspects were found to be in possession of firearms, one of which was stolen in the State of Virginia.
Allen and Jones will next be in Manitowoc County court on Monday (December 29th) for adjourned initial appearances, while Hamilton returns on January 8th for his rescheduled preliminary hearing.
