A Manitowoc man charged with injuring a police officer looks to be heading towards a plea deal.
51-year-old Mario Mora has been charged with Resisting an Officer Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, Battery or Threatening a Law Enforcement Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and five counts of misdemeanor Bail Jumping for an incident that occurred near South 18th Street and Western Avenue in April.
At his preliminary hearing seven months ago, Mora pleaded not guilty to all charges he faces, however, court documents show that he was scheduled to have a plea hearing on December 4th, which has since been delayed.
Given his previous plea, this new court date signals that the 51-year-old is prepared to accept a plea deal.
Mora was arrested after the Manitowoc Police Department was dispatched due to an altercation between him and his partner.
After being located by police, Mora became combative with an officer in the middle of the street, injuring them in the process.
After injuring the officer, Mora was subdued with a taser before being placed in custody.
He will now return to court on January 29th for his rescheduled plea hearing in Branch 1 in front of Judge Mark Rohrer.
