The Manitowoc Police Department helped more than 30 kids have a great Christmas.
Their Shop with a Cop event on December 11th brought in 32 children, representing 25 families, along with 130 people, with over 50 volunteers representing local law enforcement agencies.
After each child was paired with an officer, they were given a police-escorted ride to Walmart to shop with their families.
After they were done shopping, participants boarded the school bus to return to Silver Creek Field House, where they were treated to pizza, snacks, and ice cream.
The kids also got a visit from Santa Claus while wrapping up their gifts. Manitowoc Police thanked multiple groups for their help in making this year’s Shop with a Cop possible.
The purpose of the program is to help out families during the holiday season who might need assistance by fostering positive relationships between Law Enforcement and the citizens they protect.
