The United Way of Sheboygan County is looking to hear from residents about who stepped up big over the last year.
The United Way had begun accepting nominations for the 2026 Spirit Awards, an event that aims to celebrate and honor those who left the most significant impact on the Sheboygan County community.
In total, seven awards will be handed out, including the Youth Volunteer Award, the Community Spirit Award, the Transformative Philanthropy Award, and the Outstanding Volunteer Board of Directors Award.
While Group or Team Volunteers, Volunteer of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Awards will also be given.
On why the annual Spirit Awards are so important, the United Way of Sheboygan County stated, “Honoring local volunteers and philanthropists recognizes their invaluable contributions, inspires others to take action, and reinforces the spirit of service that drives positive change in our community.”
The 2026 Spirit Awards will be held on April 30th at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.
Those looking to nominate an individual, group, or organization are asked to do so no later than January 23rd.
Nominations, as well as more details on each award, can be found online at uwofsc.org.
