A local animal shelter has recently received funding from the Green and Gold.
The Humane Society of Sheboygan County was named one of many grant recipients by the Green Bay Packers Foundation on Wednesday (December 17th), at their annual luncheon inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.
This funding will directly support the Humane Society’s Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP).
This program provides low-cost spay and neuter services to Sheboygan County residents and their pets, aiming to reduce pet overpopulation and allowing those animals to live healthier lives.
Sheboygan County’s Humane Society was selected, in part, due to animal welfare being one of the Packers Foundation’s areas of focus for this round of grants.
On why this SNAP funding will help promote animal welfare, the Humane Society said, “Since 1964, HSSC has worked to prevent cruelty, relieve animal suffering, and promote humane education. SNAP is a critical part of that mission—preventing unwanted litters and supporting responsible pet ownership across Sheboygan County.”
The Humane Society of Sheboygan County was just one of 395 nonprofit organizations, including the Van der Brohe Arboretum, receiving funding from the Packers.
