
It will be a busy day for local and area high school basketball teams.
The Roncalli boys will try to remain undefeated tonight as they play host to the Kiel Raiders in an EWC contest at the Hangar. Junior Max Gulseth and Senior Donovan Cowley are off to terrific starts for the 4-Jets, averaging 26 and 25 points per game, respectively. Kiel is off to a 4-1 start with seniors Trevin Heller and Logan Brunner each averaging better than 15 points per game, with freshman Logan Ramminger scoring nearly 11-and-a-half points per game. Game time at the Hangar is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lincoln looks for its fourth win in six games as they host a very talented Notre Dame team at the JFK. The Ships defeated Ashwaubenon 70-62 Tuesday night, while the Tritons come to town scuffling a bit at 1-3. Coverage on WOMT and WOMTRadio.com begins at 7:00 p.m.
Elsewhere, Mishicot heads to the Court of Dreams at the Oshkosh Arena to play Northeast Wisconsin Christian Home School, Valders ventures to Two Rivers as part of a boy-girl doubleheader, and the Vikings Raiders game will air on 980 WCUB and CubRadio.com with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Other boy-girl twin bills have Brillion hosting New Holstein, Chilton heads to Sheboygan Falls, and Kohler entertains Lake Country Academy of Sheboygan.
The rest of the boys’ slate includes Plymouth travelling to Appleton to play the Xavier Hawks, Bay Port at De Pere, Green Bay Southwest is at Green Bay Preble, Pulaski hosts Ashwaubenon, North Fond Du Lac is at Random Lake, and St. Mary Catholic is home for the Omro Foxes.
As for the girls, Manitowoc Lincoln tries for a fourth consecutive victory tonight as they head up to Green Bay to battle the Tritons of Notre Dame Academy. The Ships have defeated Sheboygan North, D.C. Everest, and Ashwaubenon during their three-game winning streak, while the Tritons sit atop the FRCC at 3-0 and their 4-2 overall.
