A local nature sanctuary has been selected for a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation.
The Van der Brohe Arboretum will get the funding to strengthen its efforts to continue habitat development as part of its long-term vision for the grounds.
$1.5 million was distributed to 400 different organizations during a ceremony yesterday at Lambeau Field.
Van der Brohe also received a special gift from Packer Alum Vonnie Holiday. Lyssa Schmidt met the defensive end and was given a signed ball.
The amount of money the arboretum received was not mentioned.
The arboretum is located north of the Cool City, spanning 65 acres.
The plan is to use the land for a lot of projects, including a prairie, a visitor center, trails, and other natural areas.
