The man accused of stealing cast-iron grave markers from a Fox Crossing cemetery had his plea hearing yesterday.
59-year-old Bradley Bloch was before Judge John Jorgensen for his plea hearing; however, FOX11 reports that he chose not to speak.
Therefore, Judge Jorgensen entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
The crosses were reported stolen by a groundskeeper at St. Patrick’s Cemetery on May 12th, and shortly after, a detective found one of them up for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
When police went to speak with the seller, one of the over 150-year-old crosses was seen on display in Bloch’s front yard.
While Bloch denied ever being near the cemetery, cell phone data places him near the cemetery at the time of the crime. Several of the crosses had already been sold, but all six have since been recovered.
Bloch is due back in court on February 2nd.
